Movie Info

America's most popular satirical newspaper makes the leap from the printed page to the silver screen in this political comedy that explores what happens when journalistic integrity is compromised by corporate sensibility. Onion News anchorman Norm Archer (Len Cariou) is s principled journalist, so when he's asked to bend to the will of his corporate overlords he decides to strike back with a fury unheard of in the world of network news. Nothing is sacred as the creative force behind The Onion unleash an unrelenting barrage of satire on such subjects as pop stars, prisoners, peace talks, and blockbuster action films. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

  • It's easy to see why nobody wanted to finish The Onion Movie. But why did anybody want to start it?

  • The Onion may continue to thrive as a satirical, fake news Web site, newspaper and publisher of books, but The Onion Movie, a straight-to-DVD release, is a tired sketch-comedy collection.

If you think the Onion Movie would be bad then you are quite wrong, the film is a comedy sketch anthology that were well written and very funny, then all of the characters from the segment come together for some ultra hilarity. The film really made me laugh as the subjects that the sketches satired were all relevant to today's world, and were brilliantly done.

Best parts include Steven Seagal playing Steven Seagal in Cockpuncher. Loved the integration of the skits into the whole movie. Didn't expect much from it and it didn't disappoint, but wasn't anything genius. If you like MadTV and SNL, you'll love this.
