Audience Reviews for Oppai barê (Oppai Volleyball)
With an eccentric title as Oppai Volleyball, it's too bad Eiichiro Hasumi can't get this picture to live up to that title.
Based off of Munenori Mizuno's novel, Oppai Volleyball has quite the thin plot, when viewed at a high level. Fortunately, the events that unfold during this 100 minute story partially make up for this. Not so much as to make this picture a must see, but enough to make a plot where the viewing of a coach's breasts is the prize for winning a volleyball match, much more intelligible.
Although billed as a comedy, things are much more dramatic throughout than they are funny. There is also much more emphasis on the oppai part of the title, rather than the volleyball. Whether this is a good thing for the story or not is questionable.
Haruka Ayase has that charming presence when she is on screen, so there isn't much to complain about here. The young teens making up the boy's volleyball team are as expected, but can be a bit of an annoyance when it comes to their constant bickering about the female anatomy.
When it comes down to it, Oppai Volleyball isn't a waste of time. It just isn't a sparkling gem to run out and see.
