Critic Reviews for Outing
"The Outing" is a serviceable, somewhat middle-of-the-road '80s slasher with its supernatural leanings and uniqueness of location the two key differentiating elements.

Audience Reviews for Outing
A watchable (yet forgettable) horror film about the supernatural mayhem unleashed when some dumbass kids release a spirit from a brass lamp, as if they've never heard of the curse of the djinn. Rental.
Corny effects, a cheesy setting, but it's just not as fun as it sounds. None of the characters are likable, and the plot is slow and dull. Some bits don't make much sense, and the film never seems to pick up a decent sub-plot.
"The Outing" is the edited and shortened version of 1987's "The Lamp." Filled with idiotic teens doing even more idiotic things in a closed museum, it revolves around an evil genie released from its bottle to wreak havoc. There are some great scenes in the film, which is basically your typical teen slasher flick with supernatural elements added in. You can't help but feel like this would make a brilliant companion for a double feature with "Leprechaun." http://contributor.yahoo.com/user/849014/eric_shirey.html
