  • Despite the addition of Russian special forces soldiers, the Outpost franchise is beginning to lose steam by falling into a dull state of Nazi zombie filled redundancy.

  • The dialogue is riddled with more than a few action movie clichés, but this is no bar to enjoying the fast-paced, grimly serious character drama and epic bloodletting. For gore fans, this is a treat.

  • With producer and story credits on the first two instalments Kieran Parker makes his directorial debut and you can tell he knows the Outpost films inside and out.

Audience Reviews for Outpost 3: Rise Of The Spetsnaz

Third entry in the Outpost trilogy is a pleasant finish that ends this series on a high note and manages to be something quite entertaining for fans of the first two entries. The film boasts all of the usual trademarks displayed in the other ones, and we have more of the same, so don't expect anything new or refreshing. This is a blend of zombie, Sci Fi horror, and like the other in the trilogy relies on on-screen carnage to really deliver something engaging for the viewer. This is a gory thrill ride from start to finish, and even with its overused ideas, it still provides a good time considering that this is the third film in a franchise. The film works quite well on many levels and it's a treat for genre fans that enjoy mindless horror sci fi flick that doesn't have much logic behind it. The story is good, the gore is great and like Outpost I and II, we get a picture is sure to thrill cult horror fans. Outpost III doesn't reinvent the wheel, but what it does is provide you some thrills for a good evening of horror carnage. Hopefully this will be the last, as the filmmakers won't be able to keep the momentum going and they should quit while they're still ahead. A fine picture that is low budget horror at its most pleasant, this a third entry in a series that manages to do what so many sequels couldn't, be entertaining and an engaging experience. While most just lose fuel in the tank, and run of fumes, the third film is entertaining and well worth seeing if you're a fan of the films.
