Audience Reviews for Painted Lady

Very well done made for BBC tv movie. BBC's made for tv films are better than most of the movies that make it to our big screen. Helen Mirren is one of the best actresses around, so that definitely added to it all....

A simple made for TV mystery movie but I do enjoy Helen Mirren in it as a fallen ex-rock star.

Helen Mirren is excellent as a down and out '60s folk singer who, in order to help the family that took her in, goes undercover as an art dealer. Mirren manages a natural transition from drugged-out hippie to glamorous woman of the world in this exciting story of intrigue and mystery. The entire cast is wonderful, particularly the charisimatic Iain Glen as Sebastian. But the centerpiece of this mini-series is Mirren's Maggie, interacting with her half-sister and brother-in-law. This is a must-see on every level - the acting, drama and suspense unfold with warmth and humor. Mirren demonstrates her impeccable taste in choosing engaging material that will not disappoint the intelligent viewer.
