(1988) Paper Marriage
(In Chinese with no English subtitles)

The version I had seen has no english subtitles on it so your guess about the plot is just as good as mine since the only reason I saw this film was to see what Sammo Hung can do in terms of the fighting. And all I can say is that they're some hard hitting martial art action with Maggie Cheung as the girlfriend with martial art goons after a bag she was carrying. The rating is only for the action, that's all.

An offbeat romantic comedy with Sammo Hung and Maggie Cheung. They both have great chemistry in this action packed tale of a green card marriage, which is both entertaining and sweet.

A lot of the humour works, balancing out the plot and fight scenes. By having a good plot and characters, it only enhances the scenes where the characters must fight to get by.

Some of the plot elements are sketchy, such as Peter's disappearance, the bag of money, and Jade wanting to keep the bag of money after being released from the villains.

It's not perfect, but a very endearing and underrated movie with Sammo Hung.i
