The film is exactly like the first film except with a sundry of different scenarios that make for an interesting watch. Only too much of a rush to get the ghost responding gives the film no time to build up to a scare that you might anticipate. The film does attempt to scare you and at times almost accomplishes it, but it fails to conclude more of a delivery with too much of the first film memorable scenes and too much exaggeration.

The acting seems to do fine in the beginning, but falls way short as the story continues. Some of the characters were too much of overkill yet does keep your focus for the time being. For example, the character that played a person who studies and is educated about ghosts in the first part is replayed in the Japanese version only it's a young woman who has the ability to see or feel a strong presence.

Pointless and ridiculous.

Paranormal Activity 2 Tokyo Night was a good attempt by Japanese film makers to capitalize on the release of Paranormal Activity. Personally this movie doesn't deserve a rating of more than 3, however the scariest part of the movie was at the end when the main character is possessed. Since she has broken legs she has to woddle to the other room where her brother is to stare him down for two hours. Overall it was a good attempt at a spin-off. If your wondering if its the same demon from PA you guessed right.

Nothing really interesting happened until the end of the movie.

A spin-off of the first Paranormal Activity, this was able to connect itself to the first film and was able to bring a more horrifying look than any other Paranormal Activity movie!

The Japanese paranormal activity was creepy sometimes but it lacked more paranormal.

Surprisingly faithful in style Japanese film that was creepy and fun with a few really good jump scares. The film, released a month after the completely different American sequel, has its flaws but overall is a satisfying alternate universe follow up that is sure to please most fans of the first since it emulates it quite well.

8/10: Creepier than any of its American counterparts. It's nicely done and I feel it's the best among the entire franchise! Go watch it if you are real horror fan!

Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night is a Japanese sequel to Paranormal Activity where a brother is (for some reason) documenting while he cares for his injured sister. When strange things begin to happen around the house, the brother continues to document as the paranormal bumps in the night escalate. And since his sister was injured in an accident involving the demon possessed Katie from the PA movies, is this any surprise? Despite the new setting, the addition of Japanese spiritual culture and making the antagonists brother and sister, Japanese offspring of Peli's runaway hit series is basically made from the same formula and is practically a remake of PA1. It isn't without some amusing bits and it has a few spooky moments but, everything is just too familair to make it anything more then a curiosity for fans of this series and it sure won't recruit any new ones. For PA fans only.

I think the Japanese do these ghost movies much better.. I enjoyed it more than the American movies. The characters weren't annoying either, I sympathized with them.

Kinda disapointed by this japanese remake. Japan can do way better scary movies without copying americans.

This wasn't scarey at all, not even remotely. Whoever did the English subtitles isn't an English speaker as some of the English was difficult to understand. Though I did find interesting the Shinto ritual they do in the house to ward off evil spirits. Worth a watch if your studying Japanese.

A lil bit boring and not scary enough.

I have to say, the film overall is really good, but it doesn't live up to the American series
