This was pretty bad. I felt like it dragged on forever, when it was only an hour and a half long.
I was seriously disappointed with this movie in the series. I was anticipating so much more from the director as far as the fear factor goes. There were a few "jump" moments, but for the most part it wasn't nearly as scary or "gut wrenching" as the previous three. It's kind of fun to see Toby's character develop throughout the series; however, I hope the next one in the sequel will help bring everything together and will bring the scare factor back.
He does not like you. A woman and her strange child moves in with an everyday family. The family has a little girl that spends a lot of time skyping with her male best friend. The little girl sees strange things happening between the little boy and her little brother. She starts filming everything going on and we follow her observances of the strange behavior of the little boy. "Dad, what is that?" "That is awesome!" Henry Joost and Ariel Schulmart, directors of Catfish and Paranormal Activity 3, collaborate again to deliver Paranormal Activity 4. The storyline for this picture was very weak and the action scenes were stale and clumsy. The acting was also poor compared to the other Paranormal Activity films. "Please don't hurt me!" I thoroughly enjoyed Paranormal Activity 3 and had high hopes for this film since the same group made this picture; unfortunately, this film fell flat. Every action scene felt obnoxiously staged and the super natural elements were boring. This was a huge disappointment and the worst Paranormal Activity picture to date. Grade: F
