05/15/2021 I watched this after seeing Robert Valley's works on LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS. The man needs to direct more animated stuff. See more 02/17/2017 This Oscar nominated animated short was inspired by anime. Based on a real friend of the animator, it is a story of pain and excess. The friend drinks and smokes too much and does other death defying, self-destructive things. The run time of 35 minutes also seems excessive as we are wowed with various animation styles, but I was left wondering why we should care so much about this guy named Techno.
