Critic Reviews for Picture Me: A Model's Diary
A fruitless portrait of commonplace backstage reveals and indulgent mugging.
Viewers will get a fairly frank look inside a profession where huge financial success doesn't require much more, as even Ziff's mother admits, than being "pretty and on time."
Worthless as social commentary and clueless as a film.
I have a lot of questions about models, but none is answered in this film by catwalker Sara Ziff and her boyfriend Ole Schell.
This doc is an 82-minute series of nonbombshells: Models are pampered! They have body-image issues! And sometimes they have to contend with the unwanted sexual advances of male photographers!
Audience Reviews for Picture Me: A Model's Diary
honest, sincere portayal of sara ziff's modeling experiences, along some of her friends, both the good the bad...highly recommended..i am a teacher and am requiring my fashion students to view this...
Picture Me: A Model's Diary, shows you the ins and outs of the modeling world, the bad parts with the good. By watching it I learned way more than I knew before. I never paid much attention, but Ole Schell and Sara Ziff, along with their team, and of course the models themselves, both enlightened, and entertained. I recommend it highly,
As a very refreshing contrast to the "Top Model" world seen in magazines and TV, Picture Me shows a behind the scenes view of the glamor and grit of modeling from an outsider's perspective. I love the battle between real life and fantasy and the sometimes very blurry line within. Ole Schell's film style is approachable and you feel like you are hanging out with them. Sara Ziff is captivating and intelligent in her journey. It is nice to see that real people exist inside those clothes.
