SOMEBODY REMIND SAM RAIMI THAT TORTURE PORN (seeing people suffer for the sake of suffering) IS NOT HORROR . . . ITS REVULSION (only 1/4 One-Fourth of what horror is) . . . Horror to me is being afraid to turn out the lights or being afraid of going upstairs to your dark bedroom after seeing something or reading something.
AND . . . after seeing JJ ABRAMS' masterful Star Trek Into Darkness (aka STAR TREK II: GENESIS OF KAHN) how can you make crap? if it looks like crap and/or lacks spirit in the dailies the finished producct will be crap and "lack spirit" (what does he mean by spirit? An Example of Spirit the moment Luke Skywalker says to Princess Leia "Hello I'm Luke Skywalker and I'm here to rescue you" . . . in that moment you--at least I do--feel a spirit of exhilaration of greater action and thrills to come. My sense of wonder arcs and my hear beats faster.
Evil Dead 2013 lacked the spirit of the The Evil Dead from 1981.

I didn't like the new Evil Dead. It was okay if, but seriously all that build up a Demon being unleashed from Hell and then she kills it with a chainsaw like it ain't no thing. Lame ending. Lame Demon. Characters that no one cares if they die. Bad Movie.

WTF!! What is this girl talking about? Camp?!? We don't want "camp horror" in our "Poltergeist"! The writer of "Oz"? That's a good sign?!? The wife can talk to the dead?!? "So far, so similar"?!? REALITY TV SHOW?!?!?!? HELLZ NOOO!!!! This bitch is tripping.
"Will Raimi and Co. still maintain the original?s critique of suburban sprawl and the offenses committed by modernity on the past?"
Yeah, sounds like there's going to be some offenses committed by this "modernity" on the past all right. Might as well call this "Poltergeist Activity 5".

Good comment . . . FAX THESE COMMENTS OVER TO MISTER RAIMI PERSONALLY!!! he's obviously lost his touch: The Evil Dead 98% Evil Dead 62 percent. Raimi, even though he didn't direct, still allowed Evil Dead to be released to the public in the mediocre condition it did. and now Raimi threatens to SCREW-UP Poltergeist

Glad to see you didn't care for the new Evil Dead, I've seen some people posting how awesome it was and I'm thinking they have no clue what the film is and neither did the writer or director. There was nothing innovative or scary about it... while it does deliver the gore, truly any hack can throw buckets of blood around.

Oh, where did I put that FAX machine? Oh, yeah, 1998.

"First there?s the undoubted boon of bringing on Sam Raimi as a producer."
Uh, have they actually seen the crap Raimi has produced and directed lately?

Movie making is VISIONARY . . . young people have VISIONS old People Dream Dreams . . .
Raimi and Co. may be too old to make movies.
Joel 2: 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Acts 2:16 - 21
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I personally thought Insidious was just a rip off of Poltergeist. Too many similarities. I love Poltergeist and I enjoy Poltergeist 2, I don't see the need for this.
May 22 - 10:51 AM
Actually I saw Poltergeist 2 fairly recently and it wasn't as good as I recalled at all. The original is a classic though.
May 22 - 04:18 PM
I find Poltergeist 2 entertaining, not as good as the original though. I liked the chemistry between Craig T. Nelson's character and the Indian character. And I liked the evil preacher character, he was effectively creapy. Over all it was a decent sequel. Lets face there have been far worse sequels. Poltergeist 3 was terrible and not recommended to anyone.
