Gershon is game, but she can't rock. As her fellow band members, however, Drea de Matteo is a goddess of cool and Lori Petty breaks your heart. Steven Trask's music is as much a plus here...

There's a sharp sense of honest rock-chick energy that draws us into this film, even when its story takes a few overwrought and melodramatic turns.

The film has its sensibilities in the right place.
December 19, 2003
Edgy, intense, and thoroughly engaging. What makes this movie work is Gina Gershon - the movie rests squarely on her shoulders and she never gives a false note.

September 27, 2003
While the story line often comes uncomfortably close to melodrama, Prey for Rock and Roll, is an entertaining and sometimes even moving portrait of a veteran band that never quite hits the big time.
