After a stunning opening, Scott fails to close the deal

"Well, the audience is supposed to ASSUME what happens! Movies shouldn't be spoon-fed to people!"
I understand that, but when you have concepts that an entire film is based off of, it'd be nice to have some closure. None of the big questions are answered. Typical Lindelof. Instead we get a low-grade black goo horror movie.

Simply and well put, very respectful and respectable.
Jul 11 - 09:22 PM
exactly...the brilliant start made it even more disappointing when the whole turd structure constructed by Lindelof came crashing down

I couldn't disagree more.

Agreed. I'm a massive Alien fan and this movie was just so.....disappointing.

it was nothing more than "Alien, The beginning"

There's just too many unanswered questions... and too many alien off-shoots. All it takes is a deadly virus to wipe out all of humanity, so what are the watersnakes for... and what have they been eating for the past 2 thousand years? The only purpose they seemed to serve is to turn someone into a killing zombie, JUST like the virus... so why have them? Are they just evolved from the virus? Apparently not because... After Holloway gets infected, he's able to pass a genetic seed to Shaw which is clearly a facehugger. The facehugger in-turn deepthroats an engineer, transforming him into a gestational sack for a Xenomorph.BTW... what was that facehugger feeding on to get to the size it did?

The "water snakes" were A) not snakes, and B) they were the worms you see the crew step on when first entering the black goo pod room, and were created by the goo coming into contact with the worms after they opened one of the pods (the same way that the humans and engineers underwent transformations after coming into contact). At least pay attention before making up "plot holes".

agreed. i felt totally ripped off.

What deal was that then? Did you have some special deal with the makers of this movie? What are the big things that people wanted answering? What are the questions and why do you assume a film should give you those answers?
