Broken Lizard presents their first film in Puddle Cruiser. Each of the Broken Lizard members is a character at a small college. Each on of the characters is involved in their own crises ranging from relationship problems to possibly being expelled for stealing food. Puddle cruiser is not too funny and not really recommended unless you are a completionist for the comedy troupe.

Turned it off after 40 minutes, just awful.

Broken Lizard's first movie, not even close to the rest. Club Dredd is better than this...

Puddle Cruiser is Broken Lizard's first foray in to the film world, and though it would be many years until they brought us their masterpiece "Super Troopers", Puddle Cruiser is still an interesting watch. It has less comedic value than any of their films to follow, and it is only in the characters of Matt and Grogan that you can see the trademark stoner humour that Broken Lizard would come to represent. Puddle Cruiser is more of your typical 90's "teen movie" a little bit of comedy, a little bit of romance, some coming of age themes and someone gets beaten up. That formula runs through the film and it works, it just doesn't work spectacularly.

Not a complete train derailment that I thought it was going to be. That being said it is hard to believe the people who brought us Super Troopers and Beerfest started out on a movie like this. Not much for laughter and the acting was mediocre at best.

It's low-budget charms make it better than anything the Broken Lizard boys have done since *shudder* The Babymakers.

Broken Lizard's second best film. Again, a comedy anyone could make, but a great cast make it a good time. I saw it in 2002 before it got wide release. People compare it to "Animal House" and "Clerks"... Why?

Easily the weakest from the Broken Lizard troupe with a paper-thin plot and random situations that aren't as funny as they think they are. Though it does have a few chuckle-worthy moments, it's no Super Troopers!

Years before Broken Lizard hit the big time with their cult hit Super Troopers, they made Puddle Cruiser! Filmed on location at the college they all met at, the movie is a low budget indie film which follows a group of guys on campus. There's none of the trademark lowbrow slapstick that they later became known for and the movie is heavily dialogue driven with a mild comic slant on their conversations. Puddle Cruiser feels like an exercise... almost an experiment so that they could cut their teeth. Its well edited and there's some great camera angles and panning shots. The script is really amateurish and the acting is average... but there's an obvious potential which explains why it was well received when presented at the Sundance Film Festival in 1995. They've come a long way and Super Troopers didn't come along for another 6 years... since then its been one comedy gem after another, with several more in the pipeline. Non Lizard lovers will hate Puddle Cruiser, but for those of us who do, Its a cool glimpse into their creative origins.

The acting was fairly bad, but had lots of laughs and was original and a plain story which added to the movie

From the guys who brought you Super Troopers and the much better Club Dread. Reeks of a first-time movie: slow, dull and trying so hard to be funny, yet still failing. It seems unfair to be too tough on the movie, but it's destined for the bargain bin, just the same.

Broken Lizard made this film before "Super Troopers", but this one is pretty average in comparison. The scenes where they guys from Broken Lizard are together are pretty good, but most of the film focuses on a not so funny, fairly conventional college romance story. Not a horrible movie, but their weakest one by far.
