This movie is still above most of its peers and worth a watch by all horror fans.

Amongst a sea of sequels and remakes that year, Stan Winston's tragic and terrifying backwoods fairy tale stood out as something wholly unique and also gave us some incredible character development by way of Henriksen's tragic character.

The design of pumpkin head is brilliant and still immensely striking, despite the film's age.

It's all done in such a dislocated, hectic style that it's sometimes difficult to tell what's happening.
