Movie Info

This video features folksinger Pete Seeger in a conversation with journalist Bill Moyers. Seegers' musical career began in the 1930s with the Weavers, and his collaboration with Woody Guthrie. He talks about those times, as well as his appearance before the House on Un-American Activities Committee, his subsequent ban from television, and his return to the medium, when he sang an antiwar song on The Smothers Brothers Show. The two men discuss the political issues that Seeger has been involved in, including labor, peace, and environmental movements. Seeger sings some of his most politicized songs.
