Movie Info

Filmmakers Jesse Barrett-Mills and Daniel Gallai explore the mysterious life of martial artist Frank Dux, whose experiences in a clandestine fighting tournament known as "The Kumite" inspired the 1986 Jean-Claude Van Damme film Bloodsport. A martial arts innovator who pioneered the teaching of Ninjitsu in America, Dux was a key figure in the growth of Mixed Martial Arts. Meanwhile, Dux began weaving elaborate tales about his work as a secret agent, even drawing accusations that he tampered with his military record. With so many tantalizing stories swirling around the infamous martial artist - including the details of his involvement with "The Kumite" - Gallai and Barrett-Mills attempt to sort fact from fiction by speaking with Dux himself, as well as those who know him best.
