Abusive father. Unwed pregnant teenage daughter. Wife with inner strength who must often appease and accommodate. Pre-teen son who yearns to better himself through education but must shine shoes on the streets to bring money to the family. Hitman lodger forced on the family by whichever group hold local power but who provides the family an income and (perhaps) acts as a restraining influence on the father. All of these people seem trapped by circumstance in war ravaged Baghdad and opportunity with an eye always open for a way out.
Filled with fine performances where more is communicated in silence than in dialog.
