Fascinating documentary study of the lives of Afro-Brazilians who are descendants of the first successful slave revolt in the Western Hemisphere. Filled with gorgeous music and dance as well as eye-opening social commentary.

Hopping from one settlement to another, the film too often feels more like a lesson than an experience.
