Hyehwa is a 23-year-old dog beautician who works at a small veterinary hospital. She lives alone and looks after abandoned dogs. One day, she goes to a village that is about to be abolished and finds a white dog suffering from a hernia injury. She goes after it, but fails to catch it. For some reason, Hyehwa cannot get the injured dog out of her mind. The next day, she goes back to the village in order to find the dog. She goes to an isolated house that the dog used to live, and sets up an equipment in order to catch the dog. At that moment, a man appears. The man, who has convenient features, has a limp in his leg. It seems that they haven't met for a long time, but Hyehwa ignores him and turns to leave. She roughly pushes him away. The man holds her as he tries to get the words out his mouth. "Hyehwa, our child... is alive." Five years ago, Hyehwa and Hansoo, a high-school boy her age, had a child. Hansoo was a timid boy, but a good student who loved Hyehwa more than anyone else, and the two promised to get married after graduation. But a few days before the birth of the child, Hansoo disappears without a word and Hyehwa becomes weak-willed. When she comes out of the anesthetic after the operation, she learns that the baby died of heart problems when it was a day old. Thus, the child that she believed to be dead is alive. Although Hyehwa tries to ignore it, she becomes persuaded by Hansoo who wants to go and see their child. Will this become a chance for Hyehwa to find her child, her love, and everything she thought she had lost?
