Movie Info

The 40th president of the United States, Ronald Reagan (played here by James Brolin), and his wife Nancy (Judy Davis) are the subjects of this biopic that aired amid great controversy as a 3-hour presentation on the Showtime network in 2003. The made-for-TV movie depicts, among other things, President Reagan's purported intransient position on AIDS.

Audience Reviews for The Reagans

What's disappointing is that the Reagan presidency could make a potentially great film or miniseries(You've got crazy Nancy, corruption, folksy anti-intellectualism), but this one is awful. It basically just the whole history on fast-forward and I can't tell what the makers are trying to say about Reagan or his presidency.

MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THIS IS ACTUALLY NOT TOO BAD. I FELT IT WAS PROBABLY A VERY ACCURATE PORTRAYAL OF THE FORMER PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY. JUDY DAVIS IS SO SO AS NACY, BUT JAMES BROLIN IS QUITE REMARKABLE AS RONALD REAGAN. OF COURSE NANCY IS A SHALLOW BITCH, BUT THAT ISN'T NEWS TO ANYONE, BUT THE FILM SHOWED THE PRESIDENT AS A SURPRISINGLY SYMPATHETIC MAN
