Terry Richmond enters the town of Shelby Springs on a simple but urgent mission-- post bail for his cousin and save him from imminent danger. But when Terry’s life’s savings is unjustly seized by law-enforcement, he’s forced to go head to head with local police chief Sandy Burnne and his combat-ready officers. Terry finds an unlikely ally in court clerk Summer McBride and the two become ensnared in a deep-rooted conspiracy within the remote township. As the stakes turn deadly, Terry must call upon his mysterious background to break the department’s hold on the community, bring justice to his own family-- and protect Summer in the process.

Top-tier action film! Aaron Pierre stunts with composure of McQueen and physicality of Snipes. Type of cinema that has been missing in Hollywood for quite some time. A non-lethal CQC expert fantastically displayed. Written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin, The Green Room) this sleeper hit should be in everyone's must watch list.

It is interesting actually. The way how it starts and goes up to the middle is really good and gripping. The tension building in the small town setup is done perfectly. But at the end it gets a bit slow and the final payoff doesn't fully hit with the same heavy energy as the setup. But still I really like this film overall. Aaron Pierre has an amazing screen presence. Watching him take down corrupt smalltown cops logically and with total calm composure makes me feel like watching Alan Ritchson's Reacher show. I mean just the character vibe is exactly like that. He is just a total powerhouse who is always ten steps ahead of everyone else. It is a very cool and highly grounded thriller.

Best action/crime movie I've seen in years. They don't make them like this anymore! Great script with details and dialogue that the new half-baked, low effort movies don't have anymore. Bravo to the screenwriters who included smart facts to make this script sing. Aaron Pierre is a legit new action hero, and Don Johnson did awesome as a multi-faceted character. Definitely worth a watch!
