Movie Info

The film that marked a shift in focus towards more mature works for Japanese giant Nikkatsu Studios, director Toshio Masuda's drama about a detective who fatally shoots the key witness in a high profile drug case also launched the careers of both director Masuda and star Yujiro Ishihara. Mikami (Ishihara) is a detective who's tantalizingly close to cracking a big drug case when he makes the fateful mistake of gunning down the sole witness. In the aftermath of that misstep, Mikami flees into exile for four long years. Upon his return to Yokohama, Mikami vows to uncover the sordid truth about his unscrupulous ex-partner, who is now married to the woman Mikami remains deeply in love with. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
