It definitely lost the 2010 original's charm. The Director’s Eye: The globe-trotting espionage vibe looks super slick. Looking through my traditional lens, I really loved Frank's motivation: he just wants to settle down into a quiet domestic life and protect his girl. Malkovich is hilarious, and Helen Mirren remains iconic as a refined, old-school assassin. The orchestral score hits those big action beats nicely without overpowering things. The Cuts: The plot is way too convoluted. They bounce around chasing a Cold War weapon, and the middle part really dragged for me. Honestly, Willis looked kind of bored and lost that scrappy underdog spark. Also, the humor felt super forced; pushing everyone to be wacky totally watered down the actual spy stakes. Verdict: A passable popcorn flick if you just want to see legends shooting big guns, but it misses the original's heart. Favorite Line: “I'm retired. It was so much fun to see this crew back on the silver screen, even if the story made no sense whatsoever. We remember lots of quotable lines and fun interactions among the characters and have watched it over and over just for dumb fun. If you liked the original, this one will at least make you chuckle.
