While the final climax provides some modest thrills, the hour and change leading up to it is not worth the price of admission.

Grizzly and gory throwback to the man vs. nature movies of previous decades.

There are moments here that are so over-the-top loony, you might just find yourself clapping your hands and giggling in delight. And then there's all the other stuff.

Aisle Seat

Lacks the go-for-the-gut sense of grizzlies as hairy great white sharks that could have made it into a landlocked Jaws.

Audience Reviews for Into The Grizzly Maze

I appreciate that it's not filmed as horribly as other low budget movies and that the cast actually made an effort. But by the end, the fight against the bear becomes implausible and even hilarious.

Absolute garbage. That's the most apt way to describe Into the Grizzly Maze. Terrible acting, terribly cliche story, and even worse effects, this film offers nothing new or even remotely exciting to the man vs. wild survival genre. The main cast, while comprised of good actors, is absolutely terrible in this. They all overact, but I guess that comes as a response to the lack of content they're given to work with. The writing pegs these characters as paper thin, two dimensional cutouts of characters that we've seen over the last thirty years, but there is nothing done to elevate the material. As for the pacing, you get the typical slog in the beginning as the film hit every "tough guy with a dark park who comes back to his homes town" cliche, before diving into the "action", which is also clichéd. As for the visual effects? Hilariously bad in every sense of the word. Especially in the climax, where you can tell these actors weren't withing five miles of any actual bear. Overall, this film is a masterclass of lazy writing and filmmaking, and can, and probably should, be overlooked.

Maybe I lowered my expectations because of the reviews, but we thought the movie was great. I thought the plot was good and also thought there was plenty of action and suspense. Well worth watching!
