For a film endeavouring to chronicle a 41-year-old stoner attempting to soberly walk down the path of enlightenment, Capper's Reincarnated ultimately loses track in the presence of stardom.

Anything beyond 'Jah' and 'peace and love' is lost in a fog of weed but classic moments such as a perma-stoned Snoop trying to scrump a grapefruit off a tree are unintentionally hilarious.

All told - and this film knows exactly who its audience is - a reminder of what famously enriching company habitual stoners are.

Comic, pretentious and tedious.

You suspect the camera crew returned from Jamaica with about 20 minutes of usable footage.

One can't help thinking that if you've tasted all the spoils it is much easier to give the sweet life up - while still riding around in a Rolls, of course.

Lavish PR mission or genuine example of creative renewal? Beats us...
March 17, 2013
It features more weed than a pot-warming party at Bill & Ben's but offers little more than spliff-glazed promotion for Snoop's reggae reincarnation.

Wait, Snoop likes weed?!
March 14, 2013
Essentially 90-minute promo video carefully orchestrated by the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg and his handlers.
Top Critic

Essentially an MTV Cribs episode padded out to feature length, Andy Capper's obsequious doc shadows Snoop Dogg-now Snoop Lion-during the making of his first reggae album.
March 14, 2013
If you're a sober fan of Snoop Dogg's rap songs, as I am, you're in trouble.
March 12, 2013
The film is as lightweight as the ganja-puffing is plentiful, little more than a vanity project that allows its subject to wax philosophical on his past triumphs, tragedies, and spiritual development ...
