Critic Reviews for Repentance
A movie of modest means that nevertheless offers a fairly cohesive story and at least one standout performance.
Despite convincing performances, the fatal flaw is the attempt to meld two genres together that don't quite work.
A mopey thriller that unsuccessfully tries to blend psychological portraiture with pointless tension derived from torture, Caland's film wastes two performances that outstrip the material's intelligence deficit.
Repentance likes to imagine it traffics in shock, but it's the kind of movie where everyone and everything is exactly as they appear.
Audience Reviews for Repentance
Dull and uninvolving, Repentance wastes it's strong cast and creepy atmosphere in a insipid retread of every cliche and trope involved with psychological horrors.
decent. there were parts of this movie that I thought could've been done better but forest Whitaker did some great acting and so did the other lead. and the twist ending wasn't bad.
The plot is ,basically the same as "Misery". The acting is subpar, especially Epps, who sleep walks through his gangsta brother role.
