Right at the moment when it seems like "Ride or Die" might run out of gas, someone drops by to remind us how powerful it can be when people let their most primal emotions take the wheel. Go to Full Review

Plenty of double-themed movies have been made over the years, but Ride or Die seems like an ideal companion piece to Persona. Both films are sexually provocative, and both require multiple viewings..." Go to Full Review

The whole film ... totally smacks of male gaze exploitation. Go to Full Review

Powered by heated conflict and occasional moments of grace ... Hiroki's violent romance is about as messy and self-victimising as the love that it brings to the screen. Go to Full Review

Red Silver Sai N @silvertulip Apr 9 This movie has some parts that may feel irrelevant, but it is worth watching for me, especially in how the characters’ feelings unfold. It portrays two complex individuals struggling to live as lesbians and as complicated human beings, showing power imbalances, differences in life circumstances, and similarities in their emotional struggles. One lives a life where her feelings are suppressed to follow societal norms. Raised without anyone to depend on but herself, she keeps her emotions hidden while trying to live a "normal" life. The other has resources and is open about her feelings, yet still feels lonely because being herself is not accepted; society views her as harmful or abnormal. Both carry different struggles but share the same longing for love and self-acceptance in a beautiful yet cruel world. Subtle symbolism, like coins, receipts, and lighting, deepened my realization while watching. The story’s message resonated with me, making this movie truly worth watching. See more Veronique M @RT12894777 07/15/2024 I wanted to give this a chance because the camera shots and story was interesting... but theres so much pointless sex with random guys that pop out of nowhere. You can remove those scenes easily and the story would not change. There is no chemistry with the characters, they are too long and they feel like some weird fantasy the director had on their actor. I specifically hate the one with the taxi driver because the next conversation is supposed to be about homosexuality and it falls flat and has 0 emotional impact. Have some self control, it ruined your movie. Your fetish is visible, and it's gross. I would only recommend it if you are a lesbian romance fanatic, otherwise, it can get boring at times. See more Read all reviews
