Movie Info

To fully accept the premise of Roy Rogers' Ridin' Down the Canyon, one must accept as gospel the notion that a worldly nightclub proprietor would be willing to build a posh Manhattan-style cabaret in the middle of a remote prairie town. Actually, the canny proprietor is using his nitery as a front for a gang of cattle rustlers and night-riding terrorists. But Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers, originally hired as entertainers, figure out what's going on and bring the bad guys to heel. All this, and a plethora of musical numbers, in a mere 55 minutes' worth of screen time! Perhaps it goes without saying that Gabby Hayes provides comic relief and that Republic regular Roy Barcroft is foremost among the "muscle" heavies.
