She brings warmth and humor to Terri - a high school student who has cerebral palsy and is neurodivergent - capturing her longing for friendship, acceptance, prom, & love. Based on a true story, Ana, who also has cerebral palsy and is neurodivergent makes the acting feel genuine. Director Laura Somers’ sensitive, intimate direction makes every small moment feel real & emotionally rich. Rachel Bay Jones as her mom & Danny Burstein as the boyfriend are honest & raw, showing the challenges of parenting a disabled child & dating her mom. I don’t usually critique other reviews, but Russ Simmons of KKFI-FM & WDAF-TV (Kansas City) gave it "3/5 as a sweet-natured drama about a teen with a developmental disability". He misses that Terri has cerebral palsy & is neurodivergent, undersells Sharp’s performance, the authentic representation, the supporting cast and the film’s emotional impact.
