Audience Reviews for Robo

I took the time to find this on RT because It was hard to find under its original name "Enthiran" or "Robot", I felt like I should express my love for this film. Yet it's all been done before in so many different ways (The Terminator, I Robot), I enjoyed so much about this film, except all the Indian Song/Dance intermissions haha. Yet I laughed my ass off at most of the songs, I had to fast forward some of it to get back to the plot. The special effects do live up to the hype of "India/Asia's most expensive film yet" with so many uniquely amazing effects the REAL TERMINATOR should have produced. AND TO ADMIT this is the first Indian film I've ever considered watching, and probably ever will, unless it has a trailer as spectacular as this one had, it sold me straight away. It's not easy to sit me in front of a foreign film but this was well worth it, I stand up and applause, please give us a sequel! BOOM BOOM ROBOT!

Had it not been for Rajnikanth, the movie would not have lasted for even a weekend. It was only the star power of Rajnikanth that made this poor film a hit. The movie was totally nonsensical and it's understandable that it tends to be liked only by hardcore Rajnikanth fans. What's more shocking is the fact that this shit was directed by Shankar who had given great films like Nayak, Hindustani in the past (I'm not feeling too generous to include Sivaji and Anniyan/Aparichit among his great films). Technically remarkable and visually outstanding, this movie failed in the script and screenplay department. Unless you're a hardcore Rajnikanth fan, it will be in your best interest to stay away from this flick.
