Movie Info

Rogue of the Range was filmed near the end of western star Johnny Mack Brown's two-year contract with producer A. W. Hackel. Brown is cast as two-gun Dan Doran, a secret operative for the federal government. In the company of a female missionary (Phyllis Hume), whom he previously rescued from death, Doran rides into a lawless community, intending to remove the "less" from the adjective. While saloon-hall gal Stella (Lois January) sets her sights on Dan, villain Branscomb (Alden Chase) begins drooling over the pretty mission gal. Though there's a surprise or two at the end, for the most part Rogue of the Range is a fair-to-middling Johnny Mack Brown starrer.more
