Movie Info

Rozbijemo Zabawe (Break up the Dance) is an eight-minute short film by Roman Polanski, his first to feature a soundtrack. Young people arrive at a social dance where a jazz band is playing. A group of thugs hang out by the gated entrance, but they don't have tickets to get in. They climb the fence and disrupt the dance by beating people up, pushing girls down, and throwing people in the water. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, Rovi

Audience Reviews for Rozbijemy zabawe... (Break Up the Dance)

Well, I was wrong,-not all of Polanski's early shorts were totally silent or dialogue free. This ine is a fun little cinema verite type piece. What's good about all this early work is that it rides a fine line between funny and creepy, something that Polanski later became a master of.

fun cinéma vérité. Young Polanski also had a wicked sense of humour and the fixed purpose of showing us misery anywhere we look.
