Besides featuring people we can actually identify with, the film itself is actually pretty terrifying
Lawrence Gough's horror thriller ploughs its way through its strange plot pretty thoroughly.
A smartly budgeted and often scary chiller.
It's an efficient genre workout, with plenty of shocks and splats and a political subtext, but most impressively, it successfully combines dread with the domestic...
Gough can't disguise his third act monster's rubberiness, but it doesn't fatally wound his clever chiller that impresses up to its inevitably downbeat conclusion.
It's a promising premise that soon gets stuck in a cul-de-sac.
The spectre of suburban domestic angst hangs heavy over Lawrence Gough's horror.
A pretty poor script and low budget executed masterfully. The positives and negatives almost perfectly cancel one another out for a completely watchable middle-of-the-road type horror.
I watched about 25-30 minutes of Salvage on netflix & was out like a light.I woke up, It was still on & I went right back to sleep.1 good thing about Salvage was the beginning.Everything I watched after that was from the inside of my eyelids.I didn't care at all to restart or replay the movie from where I left off from so that tells you how bad I thought it was.Give it a chance if you'd like but I suggest you avoid Salvage altogether
Horror thriller fails to be exceptional in the hoped for ways, but surprises by creating characters more interesting and worthwhile than you usually get in this sort of thing. Still, it can't help the film's central conceit work any better.
Not as SALVAGE as its title claims but it is really a good low budget horror/thriller that delivers good acting, some tension in parts and some gory moments though I think it needed a better conclusion..
