The third movie doesn't go over the edge, but it does start to feel like John is setting his subjects up to fail, and the game shouldn't be rigged quite so hard if he really wants people to walk the path of redemption.

Staying mostly faithful to the successful blueprint of its two earlier installments, Saw III is an adequate sequel that works well enough on its own terms.

One of the most sadistic, brutal, grisly films of the current splatter-porn genre.

It requires a stretch of the imagination too far, but there's still plenty of gore and tricksy murders here.

No one will ever be able to accuse series creators and scribes Leigh Wannell and James Wan of being stingy with the red stuff.

Feb 20, 2016Saw 3 started to go downhill as the film taken a turn from being clever to being a gore fest. Amanda is now Jigsaw's apprentice who is helping him to conduct a deadly new game which would be similar to Saw 4, Saw 6 and Saw 7. There were many questions left unexplained (which were explained in later films), the quality of acting was also diminishing, Saw 3 would please the fans but not win any new ones.Sylvester K Super Reviewer

Dec 22, 2015By now the franchise just turned into a gore fest but at least with this film it has heart, there are moments in this film which are genuinely heart wrenching especially when Jeff ahs to burn his dead child's toys and stuff. The acting was good, the twist was another shocker but you could tell the franchise was starting to derail but this film was still good. I give this film 7/10.Sonny H Super Reviewer

Oct 30, 2015A dark and sadistic film, Saw III sets new standards in depravity. Now on his death bed, Jigsaw sets up one final game: forcing a grieving father to confront those responsible for the miscarriage of justice in his son's death, making him choose vengeance or forgiveness as he progresses through a maze. Once again the characters are rather repugnant, and the traps are crueler than ever. Yet the plot takes a major twist at the end that's quite shocking. And, Shawnee Smith gives a really strong performance that's extremely compelling. Though the violence is incredibly gratuitous, Saw III does deliver some terrifying thrills.Dann M Super Reviewer

Apr 07, 2015My personal favourite of the franchise, Saw III delivers something unexpected to such a series; real longing and emotion are tennis racketed between the two villains played by Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell, who have such great chemistry that its hard to take your eyes off them. The ending is quite explosive and the traps are all absurd yet sort of ingenious in a bad taste kind of way.Harry W Super Reviewer
Saw III Quotes
Judge Halden: | Jeff! Just keep standing there, you're an accomplice to murder! Are you a murder? |
Jeff Reinhart: | I've wanted to kill him everyday. For three years, I wanted to kill you. Yeah, maybe I am. |
Judge Halden: | You'll lose your family. Your wife, your daughter! |
Jeff Reinhart: | I forgive you. |
Dr. Lynn Denlon: | Alright John, I need you to keep your head to the side and keep still. What's going on is that your brain is pushing against your skull; I'm going to try to relieve the pressure by cutting away a piece of your skull. It should help you with your headaches, and drastically improve your motor skills. Do you understand? |
Dr. Lynn Denlon: | [before the surgery] Alright, John, I need you to keep your head to the side and keep still. What's going on here is your brain is pushing against your skull. I'm going to try and relieve the pressure by cutting away a little bit of your skull. It should help you with your headaches and drastically improve your motor skills. Do you understand? |
Jigsaw: | All too well. |
Dr. Lynn Denlon: | [while Amanda is comforting John] He can't hear you. He doesn't even know you're there. |
