I know I'm 14 years late, but 'The Scorpion King' and 'Hercules' have so much in common that I can barely decide which film is better (Or worse). Probably Liked 'Hercules' better because 1.) The Rock was stronger 2.) He didn't have as many lines to ruin 3.) There was no Michael Clarke Duncan to put on a wig & makeup or get fucked in the ass for no apparent reason, got to stay away from that guy...

It has pretty good action and adventure. Dwayne Johnson nails the role!

A good action filled adventure, but tends to have a few things that makes no sense and drags on in some parts. Still the action in this is spectacular and the acting is good - ok. Definitely a watchable movie if nothing else is on.

Not as bad as critics made out there was some nice action scenes Dwaynes acting isn't the best but as far as spinoffs go it's pretty good fun.

17% - What is there in this movie??? Nothing. So, end of the story.

This was a enjoyable and fast paced movie. It had a basic plot with decent acting and the main issue was the watered down fight scenes where people get stabbed and killed and there is never a single drop of blood spilled.

Okay, it's stupid. And cheesy. And incompetent. But it's fun enough, though nowhere near as fun as its predecessors. There are far, FAR worse ways to kill time.

A terrific guilty pleasure movie, epic fight scenes and sheer enjoyment value make up for cheesy dialogue and acting.

It shows its date, with the goofy sidekick and cheesy serious characters. That does give it a fun factor, yet one can only takes so much before it gets tedious. The Rock plays the character straight with a humorous twists, while the other characters fall flat. Decent action, memorable fights, but nothing to really come back to.

Awesome fighting ,cool characters and funny lines by far one of the best movies ever!

Fun sword and sandle adventure. Some of it can be a bit cornball, but it's saved by the Rocks charisma.

Get's an extra star for the cheese but that only magnifies how bad it really is.

love this movie as a kid, I would love to have seen more of the real story of the scorpion king how he went from good to evil whit The Rock. it's sad that they let it go down hill and not try to fix it.

A spin-off of The Mummy series, The Scorpion King is a fun sword and sandals film. The story follows an Akkadian warrior named Mathayus who's hired to assassinate a warlord's sorcerer, but he's betrayed and left for dead. Starring The Rock, Kelly Hu, and Michael Clarke Duncan, the cast is pretty solid, and they do a good job at handling the campiness of the material. Also, the action scenes are dynamic and have a lot of energy to them. However, the script is rather weak, with a fairly generic plot and poorly written dialog. Yet despite its problems, The Scorpion King is a lighthearted and entertaining action film.

The Scorpion King is one of those movies that is so cheesy you can't help but like it. It's basically 90 minutes of The Rock being witty and badass and Kelly Hu being hot, but PG-13 style. Yes, with this PG-13 rating there's no gore and the sexuality is put on mute, but I won't lie, the movie is amusing in parts. For the most part the action is well filmed and so over the top you can't help but smile. The Rock is a likable actor, and if it was anybody else in this movie, it probably wouldn't have made a dime at the box office, plus like I said, Kelly Hu is hot in this movie, but with the PG-13 there's no nudity of course, so the tame feel the film has kind of prevents it from being memorable. To me 300 with always be the ultimate mixture of blood and boobs, but when it come to silly fantasy films, you can do a lot worse than this movie. It's one of those movies that if you find it on TV, you should watch, but there's no reason to seek it out yourself, just let it come to you.
