Movie Info

In this low-budget, routine horror-comedy, Edgar Allen (Rufus Butler Seder), aspiring to move along in the literary footsteps of another, 19th-century Edgar Allen, has written a murder mystery about a serial killer. When Edgar takes on a janitorial position at a 20th-century equivalent of the House of Usher - "Welcome Apartments," he cannot help but notice the oddball residents there. His notice increases after someone starts bumping them off, exactly in the manner described in Edgar's murder mystery - even more mysterious now that the manuscript has been stolen.

Audience Reviews for Scream Play

Troma did an art film and it's actually pretty good and there are still plenty of Troma things about the film too so it should appeal to fans of their other films as well as film buffs. The acting is a mixed bag. The physicality is right for German Expressionist films, which this is paying heavy tribute to, but most of the actors don't deliver their lines well. It does a great job of replicating the look of silent era German Expressionist horror films too. It's really spot on in that respect. Overall a very enjoyable film.
