A solid supporting performance is found here for Leary's searing humor and also showcased one of the breakout performaces of 2003 Sundance it girl Hope Davies. Amusing yet pretty interesting study of the potential breakdown of romantic relations

Campbell Scott looks like a rapist when he has a mustache. However he and Hope Davis are great together (acting opposite one another)

Great little movie about infidelity, insecurity, trust within a marriage. Great acting from all involved especially the underrated Campbell Scott and Hope Davis. Uneven at times, dream sequences kinda took me away from the action, but overall well-done. Highly recommended.

You could see the microphone hanging down in one scene.

Great acting and cut-ins by Dennis Leary...the schizoid dentist was getting marital tips from an angry patient he was hallucinating....

Campbell Scott's finest effort to date. This is a hidden must see cinematic gem.

Not in the league of Alan Rudolph's best like "Choose Me" or "Welcome to L.A." But well-made all the same.
Denis Leary steals his scenes.

Film etrange mais bon a mon avis. J'deteste les dentistes alors voir "leur vie secrete" c'est un peu deconcertant. Sinon le bout ou tout le monde est malade c'est degoutant. J'voudrais bien l'avoir lui.

Look at the title. Do you really want to know? Leary's a pussy.

What could have been a sharp and rather dark exploration of a relationship haunted by doubt and mistrust, is fatally undermined by a rather ham-fisted plot device. That said, there remains much to enjoy - especially in the performances of the leads (Campbell Scott and Hope Davis).

looked good. acting did turn out to be great. Leary exceptional. But overall, was a bore. Actually, it was well acted by all but the story was a little frustrating for me. I do not recommend.

This is a very intelligently written, wonderfully acted movie about the challenge of marriage as painted by the metaphor of dentistry. The film centers around a couple, who on the outside would seem to have it all, but behind closed doors, and despite their three young children, have forgotten how to communicate with each other. Denis Leary's character Slater, personifies David Hurst's (Campbell Scott) insecurity and adds some dark humour. This should be mandatory viewing for all married couples who have spent at least 5 years together.

"I could kill you." Also a good movie, although I remember little of it.
