This documentary is well made but can only really outline the history of this iconic company and its creations in a short running time. Sadly those who this will likely appeal to will already know much of what is contained but it is still quite entertaining. I just wish this had been envisioned as a much longer mini series so more time could be devoted to each era and the various imprints.

Informative. I wish Marvel would do something like this

Un doc très bien fait, rempli d'entretiens variés et d'anecdotes, sur l'histoire de DC comics et des plus célèbres de ses héros: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman,...

Fantastic look at how DC Comics came about (while completely omitting Canada's role in the Superman story) and the impact comics played throughout the 20th Century and beyond.
Probably the best role that Ryan Reynolds has played so far, as an off camera narrator.

Love the story on that hack Wertham's impact on comic book industry (Seduction of the Innocent). Thankfully just about everything he asserted regarding the relation to comics and children growing up to become delinquents can now be blamed on MTV instead.

It's quite touching to see the passion poured into DC's most iconic characters and fascinating to see their development and ever-changing relevance over time.

As detailed as the 90-minute gestation permits, this delightful retrospective of one of literature's most enduring publishing houses is a must for fans of these enduring superheroes.

Still a Marvel guy and will stay that way for now. Good look at how things got started but as it goes over the last 20-30 years it shows how DC is just not what it used to be ... always playing catch up with the rest besides Batman

A breezy look at the history of DC Comics, which likely won't tell you a lot you don't already know if you're already a comic fan, but could be very informative for the novice. Well worth a look ether way for the various folks reminiscing in their own words.

Pretty good overall doc on the comic book business as well as DC comics. Bogs down in fews spots but is also loaded with great detail about characters and the people who create them.

A comprehensive documentary exploring the origins of DC comics from the 1940's up to the present day, 2010, charting the highs, be it the golden age of comics or Superman's cinematic debut in 1978, and the lows, the post World War 2 slump or the turn towards plainly ludicrous story lines in the 1960s in an attempt to keep readers enthralled. Some of the biggest names in DC's history are interviewed or are featured using archive material, principally amongst the later are Alan Moore and Frank Miller. Unless your a fan of comics this wont appeal beyond its core audience which is a shame as DC has such a colourful and varied history that its story deserves to reach a wider audience.

Quite interesting! For once it's not all about the golden age, it goes through the history of DC up to the late noughties. A wide range of writers and artist give their views on DC. Not fundamental but worth the watch.
