Audience Reviews for Selma, Lord, Selma

This movie is very powerful. I remembered watching it when I was in junior high. A little girl grew up in Selma, heard about Martin Luther King and the movement and became the youngest one to march from Selma to Montgomery. It shows an 11-year-old (eight in real life) can make a difference. I love that. I also love that it was based on a true story. It's not perfect. But I love it just the same. I wish Disney movies were more like this - challenging and filled with truth, rather than dealing with the mostly unimportant high school normality.

This movie is breathtaking. When you watch it, you feel like you went back in time to 1965 and you can feel the pain and determination of the people of color for all they want is freedom. My favorite role was the young girl who this story is mainly based upon. She is courageous for she knows that what she is getting her self into but doesnt care because she knows that segragation is not right and she desrves her freedom. It is also based on a real woman, who did all these brave deeds. When you see this movie, you will be proud.
