At first glance, the title, the cover, as well as the plot may seem cheesy. Well, this film isn't that bad, but it isn't all that great either. In the end it just turns out to be a typical sci-fi action film.
The main concept of the story revolves around time travel, which is usually a plus. At least in my book anyway. Other than that, the rest of the plot is really thin, which sort of negates the time travel effect. When you play with time travel, you need to be able to focus on the consequences and effects of meddling with, in this case, the past. While this film does address that, it feels more like a quick attempt to say "we mentioned it, now let's get on with the rest of the story."

The pace of this film is pretty quick. Unfortunately, it still gets a little boring at times. There isn't a whole lot of action and the character development falls a little short for some characters. While the action isn't that great, it is a little interesting to see a combination of military soldiers and samurai all mixed up in battle with guns, swords, and vehicles.

The acting ranges from not bad to not good. Yosuke Eguchi does OK as the lead and he is actually one of those characters that is underdeveloped. He really does not have that leadership quality that the story implies him to have. Kyoka Suzuki, of A Cheerful Gang Turns the Earth, is also just OK. Kazuki Kitamura and Takeshi Kaga, on the other hand are good. Not only can they act, but they also have the look of the samurai as well as the modern man. There are actually a few characters that seem out of place in this film. I will not mention any names here, but you'll know them if you see this.

There is nothing really special about this film, but there will be people that will enjoy this. If you want a mixture of time travel, science fiction, and action, then go ahead and take your chance with this one.
