Despite the standard psycho showdown finale (which isn't bad in itself), the journey there is so dark & twisted that it comes as a little bit of a disappointment compared to the rest of the film. Something down beat, perhaps more in the vein of 'Seven', would have suited it better. Still a corker tho'!

Really good French thriller. Twists, turns and a nice psychotic villain.

Ripe for a Hollywood remake and ruination.

A quality, little known, twisty French thriller. If you like Tell No One, give this a look. Proof indeed that the French film industry can produce some quality drama.

Aningen lång kanske men annars klart sevärd.

Proof if proof were needed that when it comes to classy thrillers ,the French can match anything the US has to offer.
Yvan Attal plays a photographer going thru a messy divorce who is drawn into a world of Blackmail and murder by a jealous schoolfriend seeking revenge.
At first his nemisis had the upper hand but soon the tables turn leading to a final standoff.
What makes this film so good is the elements of Filmakers such as DePalma and Hitchcock in its plot lines.
Bodies dissapear and reappear and seemingly innocent objects take on vital meanings .
The 2 main protagonists are both excellent and there are some very exciting moments.
Not as High profile as Tell No One but eqaully as Good, and adapted from a book by the Writer of Get Carter Ted Lewis .

In a nutshell: French guy gets his life thrown upside down by an old school friend with a grudge.

Following the excellent Tell No One, this is another impressive French thriller, that benefits from not being made with a big star and set in America.

Attal is the world weary fashion photographer, who suddenly becomes involved in a complex blackmail plot which implicates him first in a rape and then a murder, cunningly devised by an ex-class mate with revenge on his mind.

Downsides are that there are a few moments of the film that defy belief, and as a whole felt a bit too familiar, reminding me of several other films.( Clive Owen thriller "Derailed" is very similar)
Attal himself (who reminds me of a slightly younger gallic Al Pacino) makes a fairly good leading man, but does seem to handle his life spiralling out of control a bit too well.
The bad guy is impressive though, and remains sinister without descending into pantomime villain territory.
Overall - it has its flaws, but is still definitely worth checking out.

This is just waiting to become an English language film. Great performances and plot that will have you on the edge of your seat. Dont let the subtitles put you off its a cool movie.
