Rotten film that focuses on the REPORTING of Shadow People and the effects of that reporting on a radio host. Unbelieveably BORING, and completely misses the mark of its advertised subject matter. It's like watching a badly written, snail-paced movie talking about talking about a horror film. Save some brain cells and do not watch this garbage.

The thought of this film is scarier than the film itself.

A very hidden docudrama in regards to actual cases. Very intriguing.

It's an ok film. Don't you just like the way the films say "based on a true story" and there is no information about it on the internet. Well this is one of them.

Three stars for a decent idea and lots of potential. Unfortunately, it falls sort of flat as the movie plays out. It could have been so much better.

A very original and creepy horror film. Not a blood and gore movie but something more in the mold of a Val Lewton film in which the horror is suggested rather than shown. It is not one of the ubiquitous "found footage" movies but it does use a similar and quite original gimmick to promote the audience's suspension of disbelief. Good performances by a good cast in what was obviously not a big budget film. Well worth seeing.

Being that 'Shadow People' is based on actual events, the story and scares are pretty affective. But the film that delivers isn't sure whether it wants to be a supernatural horror film or a documentary about reported events.

Wether or not, you believe in the mythology of the shadow people, this film is intriguing. Who will be the next victim of SUNDS? Keep the door closed.

A movie much like The Fourth Kind in the way that real footage is mixed in with movie footage..... not bad but not great....if you like creepy, slow-burn horror you should give this a watch.

Dishonest trailer leads to disappointment.
Rather than a suspense driven horror story, this film is an awkward experience that tries to intersperse fake documentary footage with dramatic performances. I kept expecting Robert Stack from Unsolved Mysteries to start narrating.

Unfortunately, this distraction destoryed any sense of immersion in the film's story and left me feeling cheated by the trailer that seemed to promise more interesting characters and a slow-burn scary story of dread rather than a few cheap CGI thrills.

The trailer really makes this seem like a horror flick but going in to it, it felt more like a documentary in the form of a dark mystery. It was an interesting watch but do not expect to see something like The Frequency.

Hmmm...interesting. Based on true events documented in a 1970 sleep study.

Predictable flick, and slow as molasses in January. Some serious flaws too, like you cannot exhume a body unless you are a relative or have their permission or have a court order. And you certainly can't take what you may find therein--it's called grave robbing. And the plot is ludicrous. Some people will swallow anything. The acting is also very poor. To say that this film was produced by the producers of Capote only shows how the mighty can fall.

Shadow People is a interesting ok thriller about a radio Dj that gets freak out by shadows. C+

Brain fuck....awesome!

I disagree with nearly every post here. This movie was a drawn out, uneventful stinker that plodded along in much the same way one would expect a concert hall performance for musak would play out. Even as background noise it was uninterestng. It doesn't even get ones hopes up, by a quarter of the way through you realize nothing could ever be allowed to happen in this movie for fear of breaking the carefully crafted spell of boredom. That said, the acting was not half bad half the time.

Not bad, but it's not scaring at all...

Well I liked this movie. This movie is rather documentary and film based on true events type. There are many actual footage scenes.

Characters are decent and well developed. Dallas Roberts does good job at playing his characters development through the whole movie.

The main plot of the movie is rather similar to movies like "Ring". Cameraman did good job so there are no shaky camera scenes, which is rather rare today.

Also there is no gore, which is also good, cause we are all sick of watching blood splashing are unnecessary screaming in movies. This movie is not for everybody. I would recommend this movie for audience who likes thrillers based on true events and have enough time to watch it.

The actors give it their all. Theres a few jumps along the way. In the end however, pretty underwhelming.

It was an ok movie few jumps from me lived how he made himself the martyr by lying aboit the existance so that others wouldn't get hurt yet human curiosity is its own downfall
