Really good history on the deregulation and monopolization of media and how the government has taken advantage to control the narrative and keep citizenry less informed and in the dark on actual issues.
Important viewing for anyone concerned with the state of modern media in the USA.
Documentary explains how the news is for sale. News outlets depend on corporate advertising, so reporters become unable to freely report things that can affect the news organizations bottom line. Also delves into the relationship of big news and government.
A film that examines how we get to know what "the truth" is seems more important than ever, with news outlets shuttering and being bought up left and right - not to mention the rise of digital infotainment.
News sources in America have been taking over by conglomerates. And that's why you don't see any news that are actually important. Please see this. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Exceptional, and extremely relevant. Everyone should see this, unless your happy being a mindless consumer - rather than an informed active citizen.
A Brilliant documentary on the U.S. media outlets and public propaganda!
Seen at Hot Docs 2012
