Decent slasher with more Hitchcockian leanings. Rebecca Balding makes for a spunky and delightful heroine and it's always nice to see genre legends like Yvvone DeCarlo and Barbara Steele on screen. The story is nothing new and relies on the tropes of the "old dark house" movies of yore, but the story is intriguing enough in a V.C. Andrews kind of way to keep one interested until the end. It's a slow burn, which might turn off a few viewers expecting splashy slashings, but the more patient audience members might enjoy it.
