In the 17th Century, the Warbeck women (headed by scream queen extraordinaire Debbie Rochon) decide to engage in black magic after some seedy townsfolk rape and kill their sister. After that rather overlong introduction, the movie spends its bulk showcasing a depressed housewife (Rochon again) whose rich but unhappy in her marriage to her husband (Kevin G. Shinnick) whose cheating on her with conniving Julian Wells (whose performance in this film is done naked throughout out, say, 90% of the entire film). When Rochon insists that her and her husband need to talk, Shinnick and Wells conspire to kill her by hiring hitmen, but Wells is also playing Shinnick for lots of money. The story is told from several angles and perspectives of all the players in this film, but basically says the same message over, which is people have sex, get rich, get blackmailed, and get murdered. As though writer and director Justin Wingenfeld finally realized that he was making a horror movie all of a sudden, he whips out a quick zombie wife risen from the grave to exact revenge storyline in the last 13 minutes (!!) of the film, leading to some gory, violent deaths, and then boom, it's all over. The story certainly had some intrigue, but it was very hard to pull off by infusing three vastly different blocks (historical story, dramatic thriller story, and horror story) in such a short timeframe. The acting, no surprise, was terrible, though everyone makes a valiant effort, especially Rochon, who continues paying her dues with little complaints (sad to see her not do any nudity, but she still does a fine job). All of the nudity goes straight to Wells, who does an excellent job of playing a bitch slut! Look for nudie scream queen Misty Mundae in a cameo role as a blowjob giving hooker who is unfortunately giving head at the wrong place and the wrong time! Admirable movie, but terribly low-budget and dreadful at times.
Skin Crawl is a surprisingly good flick considering the budget that it is made on. The feel of the movie is sleazy and pulpy feeling. The story to Skin Crawl is very well done. The plot is clearly executed and thorough to the end. The acting is really good for the most part. I have believed the characters in this flick and enjoyed the development that they have. It is nice to see a witch/zombie film as well. This genre has not been explore too much.
On a side note, I happen to know the Director's mom. I talk with her everyday and she has excellent taste in food, books, movies, and who knows what else. I'm glad to see that her good taste has rubbed off on her son.
Kool film, with great acting and creepy story.
It is cheap, but that's not the major point here. Witch craft, sex, a too common con game. Come on...
sub-indie, shot on DV. Not a fan.
It was a decent little DTV witch flick, but there's so much more the film could have had to make it more than a cheap, run-of-the mill horror film.

Wow I have seen very bad student films shot with better visual qualities. The story is jumbled and stupid and will make your skin crawl with boredom (not horror). The acting was okay but trust me the only horror in this film is the realization that you actually spent time to watch it.
