Movie Info

A small boat taking American tourists to an African resort is shipwrecked off the shore of Snake Island, a remote location with a questionable history. Tour leader Jake Malloy (Wayne Crawford) and Malcolm Page (William Katt), a novelist researching his next book, try to help the others make it through the night, but the island's inhabitants -- the titular snakes -- have other ideas, none of them very good for the humans. ~ Buzz McClain, Rovi

Audience Reviews for Snake Island

Between the stiff acting, cheesy effects and dialogue that was bafflingly written by two grown men, there's plenty of unintentional humor to be found in Snake Island. A film like this would be perfectly excusable, and even a great learning experience... if it was done by kids just wanting to have fun. The fact that this was somehow done by adults for adults poses the question: exactly how much did they abuse the open bar they clearly had on set? Full review at

Interesting premise of nature and natural selection ideas. mostly corny, but some great snake species and some accuracy information about venom..

There are so many things I could say about this movie, but hopefully I won't spoil it completely by sharing a few highlights: random orgy in the forest to bad techno; plastic, singing snakes; really poor quality lighting and sound. Basically the movie is rather slow and often quite boring while having a thin plot and bad acting, so I've seen it about six times and try to make others watch it with me as often as possible. This movie is best watched while drunk and not in the company of anyone who's favorite movie is '10 Things I Hate About You.'
