Movie Info

A historic cult that operates in accordance to ancient rituals involving the dragon-slaying Christian martyr St. George attempts to procure the sacrifice needed to resurrect their ancient leader in this supernatural thriller starring Armand Assante. On the Eve of St. George, the cult believes that they can bring the English patron back to life if they can find the perfect sacrifice - a child with untainted ancestry. Now, as the moment of truth draws near, ancient prophecies come to pass and a dark force prepares to rise from an eternal slumber.

I worked oh so briefly on the set of this film while it was in production in Oklahoma City. At the time I was hopeful that my name might actually be in the credits but, after seeing the final product, I'm glad its not.

I almost feel bad raking this movie over the coals (almost). It has the feel of being someone's first film and, like any other artistic medium, no one hits a homerun their first time at bat. So, how can I be honest and still, at the same time, be supportive and encouraging? Let me try to list some things that are positive about Soul's Midnight: * Many scenes were filmed in Oklahoma City (that's a very nice city) * It's often (unintentionally) funny * It had a bigger budget than The Blair Witch Project * It's not like all the actors are complete unknowns, it features Armand Assante (you've heard of him, right?) * It's a better film than "Gymkata" That's all the positives I can come up with at the moment. If I think of any more I'll add them later. If I could say one thing to director Harry Basil it would be, "Hey Harry, 'next time out, suck less".
