Spies is a video series dedicated to the secret wars that have raged through the past decades. Through archival footage, interviews with key players, and excerpts from unpublished memoirs and recently declassified sources, this series attempts to put a human face on the missions of men and women who until now have lurked in the shadows. Material from the archives of the CIA, FBI, KGB, and Mossad are used extensively. "The A-Bomb Spy Ring" highlights Soviet intelligence operations in nuclear laboratories. Special attention is paid to the role of Klaus Fuchs. The second segment. "The Hunt for the A-Bomb Spies," examines the spy trials of the 1950s, with special focus on the prosecution of Julius Rosenberg and Ethel Rosenberg for their purported role in selling atomic secrets to Soviet agents.
