Movie Info

An attempt to carry the nostalgic torch of such efforts as St. Elmo's Fire and Return of the Secaucus Seven into the new millennium, albeit with an unexpectedly criminal twist, former assistant to Steven Spielberg Marc Fusco makes his directorial debut with this ensemble drama. Bored and disillusioned by their professional lives after living it up in college, a group of friends reunite a year after their graduation and attempt to recapture the spontaneity of their more carefree days by staging a bank robbery.

  • The movie just doesn't work, though there's certainly talent on display.

  • There's not a character, situation or line of dialogue that feels fresh or as if it came from someone's imagination or life experience instead of experience with movies.

  • [Garrity's] story nor his etch-a-sketch, cliche-addled characters ever take flight.

  • The film seems unfortunately destined to be one of those not-so-great indies in the respective filmographies of its actors, reflecting a time when they were desperate to get work of any kind.
